How long will it take to see results with Phyla?

While some customers experience relief quickly, we recommend incorporating Phyla into your long-term skincare routine for the best results. True skin transformation happens at the cellular level, which typically becomes visible after 1-3 months of consistent use. Skin cells have a natural turnover cycle of about 28 days, and two months allow for multiple cycles, giving Phyla’s active ingredients time to penetrate deeply and work effectively. Acne is a persistent condition, and seeing real change takes patience. For optimal results, use the Acne Phage System twice daily to support a balanced microbiome and reduce the risk of future breakouts.

I have severe acne. What can I expect within the first few weeks of using Phyla?

If you have chronic or severe acne, your microbiome may take a bit longer to rebalance. In these cases, we advise using the full Acne Phage System consistently, twice daily, for at least two months. It’s possible that your acne may temporarily worsen as your skin adjusts, but rest assured Phyla won’t cause the dryness, redness, or irritation often seen with traditional acne treatments.

Can I use other skincare products with Phyla?

We understand that skincare is a personal journey, and it’s natural to want to stick with products that work for you. To get the best results with Phyla, however, we suggest using the Acne Phage System exclusively. This reduces ingredient overload on your skin and allows our phages to work more effectively, helping to rebalance your microbiome and keep breakouts in check.

Are Phyla's products vegan and cruelty-free?

Absolutely! All Phyla products are certified vegan and cruelty-free by the Leaping Bunny Program and PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies Program. Our lab facilities are also completely free of animal-derived components.

Is Phyla gluten-free and nut-free?

Yes, all of our products are 100% gluten-free and nut-free.

Does Phyla contain alcohol, sulfates, parabens, or phthalates?

No, Phyla products are formulated without alcohol, sulfates, parabens, or phthalates.

Where does Phyla ship?

Phyla ships to all 50 states in the U.S. as well as internationally. Please note that delivery times to Hawaii, Alaska, and internationally may be longer. In addition, please check if your country is included in our ship-to country list located below.

When will I receive my order?

Orders are processed within 3 business days (excluding weekends and holidays). Shipping times vary by location and carrier. Please note, the following shipment times are after the processing window:

What if my products arrived frozen or hot?

Frozen products are safe to use; simply thaw them in the refrigerator overnight. If products arrive hot, they are still stable but should be stored as recommended.

What is your return policy for first-time purchases?

We offer a 50% refund within 60-90 days if you are unsatisfied with your first order. Please contact us at info@phylabiotics.com for more details.

What orders are eligible for the 'Subscribe & Save' free shipping?

Free shipping is only available for domestic orders within the United States. While we strive to make shipping affordable for all customers, international orders are subject to shipping fees based on the destination. These fees will be calculated and displayed during the checkout process. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for choosing Phyla!

Subscriptions and Promotions

I can't access my subscription account

When you place your first subscription order with Phyla, an account set up email is sent. If this email is not addressed and the account has not been set up, you will not be able to access your subscription settings.

If you have already set up your account or cannot find the set up email, please reach out to our team at info@phitherapeutics.com for the invite email.

Can I adjust my renewal date or subscription products?

If you log into your Phyla subscription account, scroll down to the box containing “Next Order”. From here you can place your next order, skip an order, reschedule, or delay.

What if I don’t use up all my products in 60 days?

You can contact us to adjust your subscription frequency to match your usage. This can also be adjusted in your Phyla subscription portal in the section labeled “Subscription Plan”

Do any of the products need to be refrigerated?

Our products do not require refrigeration. We have developed our phages to be shelf stable.

What types of acne does Phyla treat?

Phyla can treat all types of acne including cystic, hormonal, pastules, whiteheads, blackheads, and more. We use bacteriophages to eliminate the acne-causing bacteria on your skin.

Can I use Phyla with other products or does Phyla replace them?

Phyla is designed to be used on its own and is a well-rounded routine without any additions. It is safe to use alongside other products besides Benzoyl Peroxide. If you have any specific questions on a product you would like to use with Phyla, please reach out to our team info@phitherapeutics.com

Can Trentonin/retinol be used with Phyla?

If you are wanting to use Phyla with a retinol or tretinonin, you can do so without worry. The actives in each product work without interfering with one another.

If I use other products with Phyla, where should they go in my routine?

If you are using other products alongside Phyla, we recommend cleansing with our pH Balancing Cleanser, applying your Acne Phage Serum, follow with your other products, and sealing it in with our Anti-Blemish Moisturizer.

Why aren’t phages in the active ingredients list?

Phages are microorganisms that specifically target and attack the root cause of acne — the Cutibacterium bacteria (C. acnes bacteria) — and there are billions in the serum. Phages are microorganisms and therefore aren’t categorized as active ingredients. We include a very small amount of salicylic acid, 0.5%, in the serum to work in tandem with the phages. This salicylic acid is a compound that is categorized as an active ingredient, so we list it accordingly.

Is this good for oily skin?

Phyla is suitable for all skin types including oily, dry, sensitive, etc.

Is Phyla pregnancy safe?

Our formulas are designed to be gentle and non-irritating, with low concentrations of active ingredients such as 0.5% encapsulated salicylic acid. Although many choose to use Phyla while pregnant, we recommend checking with your doctor for personalized guidance as with any skincare routine during pregnancy.

Is this product safe to use for teens?

Phyla is safe for all ages.

How long do the products last if I am using twice daily?

If using the products twice daily, they should last over/around 2 months. The serum is formulated to have over 120 pumps, so you should use one pump in the morning and one at night. For the cleanser and moisturizer, we recommend using a dime sized amount to cover to face fully. If you need to use more/less for your specific needs, you are ok to do so.

Can I use Phyla under makeup?

Phyla is suitable to use before applying your makeup.
